Expedition Friday
Expedition Friday is a weekly dispatch of things I'm reading, thoughts I'm pondering, writing you should read, things to watch, and weekend plans. All are things I've enjoyed and you should as well. As for the weekend plans, It's all about off-road or travel adventure. My hope is the weekend plans area will actually be me, going out and doing these things, instead of just wishing. Rylo 360 Camera & the Carera Marble Mine Outside Death Valley
Video above is shot with Rylo's 360 degree camera. I love this camera! You basically just shoot in 360 degrees and post-edit in your iPhone (they may have an Android app by now). The special part about Rylo is in the software. By clicking and holding specific features in your video, the software will tag and focus on those areas in the end result. Notice how the camera pans to follow the yellow Jeep at the start? That was done by clicking on the yellow jeep and choosing "follow" in the menu. Each cut scene was done this way. Pretty slick. You can speed up and slo-mo, lots of tools. Go check it out. I hope to use it more in our adventures.

Electricity for Noobs - a New Project
Even with several scientific and business degrees, I find electricity and circuits to be magical fairy dust. In a recent endeavor to decide if I want a dual-battery system or not in my Jeep, I've had to draw on the knowledge of a few special friends. The result has been an incredible education in all things electricity. From answering the question on if I should do a dual-battery system to how to determine battery runtime for overlanding, I may have answers to questions you have been afraid to ask. There will be an extensive post on this soon, in the meantime, please comment that you want to see something like this.
